How can the scanner find a device that's not mine?
Scanning attempts to discover any device connected to your home network and may discover devices you don't recognise such as a visitor's laptop, phone or other device. Devices can be deleted by selecting the device and tapping 'delete device' at the bottom of the device screen.
Why am I asked to 'confirm a device' discovered during a scan?
This confirms that you are familiar with the device and it belongs on your home network.
What does 'delete a device' mean?
This will delete a device from your discovered device list. Note- You can rediscover a device deleted in error by re-scanning your network.
Devices I've deleted from my list keep showing up after rescan, why?
Re-scanning your home network attempts to discover any device connected to it. First determine if a device was added to your home network by a family member without your knowledge. If a device is connected to your home network that is not yours, change your router and network password immediately.
Can I recover a device I deleted by mistake?
Yes, make sure the device is turned on, connected to your home WiFi network and operating correctly. Tap rescan from the menu to attempt to rediscover the device. If the device doesn't appear after scanning, reboot your router and the device and rescan your network.
I see 'unidentified devices', what does this mean?
Devices are discovered after you scan your home network. You may see devices show up as unidentified if they are not turned on, malfunctioning or if the manufacturer has limited their ability to be discovered. Ensure all devices are turned on, connected to your home network and functioning before scanning your network.
Can I discover unidentified devices?
You may be able to discover unidentified devices by re-scanning your network. Ensure the device is turned on, connected to your home network and functioning. Rescan your network to attempt to identify the unidentified device. Note that some manufacturers limit their devices ability to be recognized.
Can I delete unidentified devices?
Yes, you can delete the devices individually but tapping on the device and tapping delete device at the bottom of the screen. We recommend trying to identify the devices, ensuring they are powered on and connected to the internet before deleting them.
Can I edit unidentified devices?
Yes, you can edit the devices by tapping on them and then editing the name or type of device. Tap save changes to save your edits.
