What you'll need to set up two-step verification
The two-step verification starts with an email address (we recommend using two email addresses, the one you usually use and a backup, just in case) a phone number and the Authenticator app. When you sign in on a new device or from a new location, we'll send you a security code that you must enter on the sign-in page. For more information about the authenticator app, see How to use the Microsoft Authenticator app .
